May our students grow in Wonder...

W3 is a time when Pre-K to 6th-grade students come together to Worship in song, grow in Wisdom, and relish God's majesty in Wonder.

Each week, we remember all the things we've learned about God (God is our helper, God is faithful, God is the same today and always, etc.), recite part of our school's core virtues catechism, honor those who have demonstrated those virtues, and hear from one another.

This week, the Kindergarten class reminded us that God's grace and mercy are the same today and always, and that Jesus is the way the truth, and the life by singing a song specifically created for the Kindergarten curriculum:

I am the Way and the Truth and the Life.
No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Don’t let your hearts be troubled
believe God, believe in me
for in my house are many rooms
there is one prepared for you
don’t let your hearts be troubled
Don’t let your hearts be troubled
for I will come and take you home
you know the way to where i’ll be
listen close, that way is Me
don’t let your hearts be troubled

Many students already knew the song from their time in Kindergarten and sang along!

For Wonder, 5th Grade shared a beloved prayer from Every Moment Holy called "A Liturgy of Praise to the King of Creation" (273-277), recognizing that God is "The Rain King...The Grain King...[the] Lord of the Bees, King of the Walruses, Commander of Rhinos, Lord of the Lightning Bugs...the King of the Constellations, The Black Hole King..." and more. Students watched this video to help visualize the vastness of God's sovereign care and command:

When the video concluded, one student exclaimed, "THAT WAS AWESOME!"

For our students to creatively grow in awe, wonder, fondness, and tenderness to God's creation, we hope they will come to love Him more and more.

Next time you see something AWESOME about God's creation and sovereign rule over all the matter in the universe, point it out to them and stand in awe with them.
