SCCS DRAMA CLUB

Oliver Jr

Based on Charles Dickens’ classic Oliver Twist, this lively musical follows a young orphan who is swept into a band of pickpockets and meets a colorful cast of characters along the way.

AUDITIONS

Cast auditions are open to students in 4th through 12th grade.

Audition dates:

  • November 13 in Room 103 (former Music Room)

  • November 14 may be added if needed

  • Callbacks will be on November 18th in Room 103

Students should come prepared with one song and one monologue to perform for their audition. Please see our Audition Information Packet for full details.

Casting

  • Casting decisions will be announced by Thanksgiving break. 

  • All cast will be required to attend a cast meeting on December 3 from 3:15 - 4:30 pm at SCCS. Parents are encouraged to attend.


Rehearsals

January 7 – March 27

  • Wednesdays & Fridays, 3:30–5:30 PM

  • Possible additional Saturday rehearsals

March 30 – April 24

  • Wednesdays & Fridays, 3:30–6:30 PM

  • No rehearsals on April 3, 15, or 17

Additional Notes

  • Possible rehearsal on January 30 (Teacher In-Service Day)

  • Additional Saturday rehearsals TBD

  • April 28 – 1st Tech Rehearsal – 3:45–7:45 PM – Theatre at SPU

  • April 29 – 2nd Tech Rehearsal – 3:45–7:45 PM – Theatre at SPU

  • April 30 – Dress Rehearsal – 3:45–7:45 PM – Theatre at SPU

  • May 1 – 1st Performance – 7:00 PM (Call time 5:00 PM) – Theatre at SPU

  • May 2 – 2nd Performance – 7:00 PM (Call time 5:30 PM) – Theatre at SPU

  • May 3 – 3rd Performance – 2:00 PM (Call time 12:30 PM) – Theatre at SPU



CLUB FEE STRUCTURE

All participants are responsible for providing their own “unders” (the base layer worn under costumes) and show shoes.

  • $700 – No volunteer hours required

  • $500 + 20 volunteer hours as Volunteer Support

  • $300 + 40+ volunteer hours as Volunteer Lead (application required)

Families interested in applying for a Volunteer Lead or Support role will receive application and role details once the cast list is finalized.
